Palm Springs, in the fifties. Yes, I would like to be teleported there please… The stunning Loewy house was designed by Albert Frey and built in 1946-47. Originally thought as a bachelor retreat, which explains why its size is not excessive.
Loewy’s home is a typical Palm Springs modernist villa: a low-slung pavilion composed of two simple rectangles and plenty of glass. The architecture totally takes into account the outside, providing striking views of the pool and the garden, the desert and the mountains… making the private oasis complete.
Industrial designer Raymond Loewy, one of the founders of the modern age, is known for his streamlined aesthetic inseparable from midcentury modern living. The simplicity of his work is thus found in the house that Albert Frey designed for him.
The distinction between inside and outside is really thin, blurred by the pool coming inside the living room. I really love that, it’s something really important for me, the feeling of living inside and outside.

Those Loewy’s Palm Springs home life pictures look so cool. The perfect home for cocktail parties.
